Aussie hip-hop legends the Hilltop Hoods have cemented their dominance over the scene, walking away from the ARIAs with two awards. Not to be outdone, newcomers TV Rock also proved their popularity, taking home two awards of their very own!
2006 has been a massive year for Adelaide’s Hilltop Hoods. Having released the follow up to their cross over album ‘The Calling’, the critically acclaimed ‘The Hard Road’, the trio also toured relentlessly, playing sold out shows across the country. They scored the award for Best Urban Release, and also the coveted Best Independent Release.
The other success story of the night was undoubtabley Melbourne’s TV Rock. Made up of Grant Smillie and Ivan Gough, the duo (along with guest vocalist Seany B) did the unthinkable for a dance track; winning the award for Highest Selling Single! They also scooped up Best Dance Release.
