Hardware and Killrockstar are introducing two new festivals in early 2007; “Playground” and “Solar” are already in the pipelines, with promises to offer some great new summer events.

Playground Festival
This new festival is happening on Sunday 11th March 2007 and according to the Hardware newsletter, a dozen acts have already been confirmed. Tickets will be on sale late december so stay tuned to ITM for up to the minute updates.

Solar 2007 Festival
Hardware, Onelove, Killrockstar and The Continental Hotel in Mornington join forces to present a new beach-side summer festival on Sunday 7th January.

The Mornington Peninsula will set the stage for the festival, which will feature an array of artists over many genres, including electro, hip hop, trance, house, rock, and more. The main stage can hold over 10,000 people with 3 smaller satellite stages. This one is set to rock the Peninsula with much anticipation brought to you by Hardware, One Love, Killrockstar and a local favourite, The Continental Hotel.

Solar sounds like something Melbourne's been looking for for a long time, hopefully it's near a beach ;)
