It was only a few short months back that I found myself gushing over the arrival of one of the brightest hopes the electro scene had seen in quite some time. Now, after a few crazy and fruitful months, the duo (made up of Sam La More and Simon ‘GT’ Lewicki) have announced their all too untimely departure.

2006 has seen the duo climb to take the electro throne in a whirlwind of achievements, which started off with the boys fighting off Paris Hilton’s producers and releasing the single ‘Danger (The Bomb)’ themselves. Shortly after the b-side ‘This Is Where The Party’s At’ was promptly picked up for a national Red Bull ad campaign in the US, and if this wasn’t enough early attention for the boys (who had little more than a few finished tracks under their belt) saw their remix reputation grow. Their reworks of The Similou, Princess Superstar, Hook’n’Sling, TV Rock and Sneaky Soundsystem were enough to earn them the worldwide respect. The boys were then given the honour of fronting the latest chapter in Ministry Of Sound’s famed ‘Mashed’ series, which was followed by a hectic host of live dates across Australia.

In the wake of the all too short, but memorable, tour, the boys have decided to call it a day and focus on their own respective projects. There will be no further releases or shows under the Tonite Only name, but keep an eye out for Sam La More and Groove Terminator individually. The boys thank all of their fans for their passionate support. “We were the futurists with no future,” says La More, before adding that the solo records are sounding great.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
