Aardvarck and Antal are founders of the renowned Amsterdam label Rush Hour Records, and they’ll be flying into Sydney to dish up a serving of deep house, electronic funk and jackin’ techno at the next High Jinks bash later this month, courtesy of Eric The Falcon Productions. Taking place at Hermann’s near Sydney Uni on January 20th, the Rush Hour boys will also be accompanied by All Out K, the co-founder of subsidiary label Kindred Spirits
Rush Hour Records is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year and since starting up in 1997, has released music from the likes of Carl Craig, Rednose District, Nubian Mindz, Deepart, Abicah Soul, Stinkworx, Dan Curtin, Volcov, Kemetic Just and Recloose along with many others. Its subsidiary label Kindred Spirits has released work from Peven Everett, Rich Medina and Kid Sublime.
The organisers of High Jinks insist the event will be an essential one for all lovers of quality dance music. “Rush Hour are about a vibe that goes deeper than genres. What they all have in common is an electronic groove that is impossible to convey with words but has been, over time, coined ‘The Rush Hour flavour’.”
High Jinks is locked in for January 20th at Hermann’s, Sydney University. The night kicks off from 8pm and pre-sale tickets are $25 from Spank Darlinghurst, So Music Newtown and Red Eye Records.
