It’s been nine years on the trot now for Kumfy Klub at the Crown & Sceptre- one of Adelaide’s longest standing nightlife institutions. To celebrate this milestone, the Kumfy crew are doing what they do best… throwing one hell of a party.

While house, breaks and funk (and their many mutations) have provided the musical score for good times at all KK events, the live element is always a big part of the nights charm, and this one is set to be a corker. Not only are the formidable funk/breaks collective The Levitators on board (straight off their set at the Big Day Out), they’ve also roped in local hip hop legends A Tribe Is Forming to fire up the party as well. The TrunkFunk Sound System boys will be in the house as always, with lots of phat grooves and big percussion to whip you into a frenzy. Also performing in the main room will be mash-up masters Track Team (DJs Noodle vs The Activist) who will also be playing at this year’s Fringe opeing party (after winning the hotly contested Fresh Fringe Spin competition at Sugar). As if the night doesn’t feature an all-star cast already, resident DJ Brad & special guest Ben James will be housin’ it up on the late shift.

In the lounged-out Kafe, the pure funk and soul sounds of DJs Hemilove and JD will be heard early, and the party hip hop and beats of Penfold and Brad later on. Lock the date into your calendar and be there for one of the Sceptre’s biggest parties of the year!
