Perth’s Funk Club crew are hitting the road for an extensive national tour in March taking in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and the ACT.

Starting out with humble beginnings in a suburban Perth pub in 2003, the Funk Club has gone on to become a permanent weekly fixture for Perth funk fans. Boasting a membership of 1200 and now in two funky locations (Leederville & Fremantle), the Funk Club has continued to go from strength to strength.

Having played host to a number of nationally touring acts and produced a compilation CD, this is the first time the Funk Club have hit the road nationally to spread it’s mission: to foster and develop Funk and related genres across the nation!

The March 2007 Funk Club tour will feature four WA acts – two bands (Lysistrata, The Crux) and two DJs (Loco Ren, Charlie Bucket.)

The tour will showcase in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. In addition to touring, Funk Club will be launching a promotional compilation CD of funk music acts from WA.
