Is a single taste of the UK dub genius at next weekend’s Playground Weekender just not going to be enough? Then look no further than the *Metro*… Organisers ensure there will not be a single turntable in sight, as punters should prepare themselves for a fully live electronic dub show that few others would attempt in such a setting.

Mad Professor earned his reputation throughout the 80’s as one of the best reggae producers in Britain, with both reggae and non-reggae acts asking him to overhaul their work. He has released countless albums (well over 100 unbelievably) including The African Connection and the Black Liberation Dub series. One of his most recognised projects in non-reggae circles was his remix of Massive Attack’s Protection album in 1996, which tied the roots of reggae and dub to modern day trip-hop and dance.

Mad Professor performs at The Metro, Sat 3rd March 9pm – 3am, with special guests The Bird, Firehouse, Ali Omar, Basslines, The Versionaries and Bentley. $29 + BF from Moshtix.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
