There’s some excitement at this hot rumour at ITM-HQ. A reliable source tells us that it’s extremely likely seminal UK electro DJ Erol Alkan will make his long awaited debut to Australian shores in 2007.

As the co-founder of influential London club night Trash, Erol built a solid reputation amongst the underground electro scene as a tastemaker DJ whose opinion and impeccable skills as a record selector had him highly sought after.

An Australian tour had never been on the cards previously, as Erol was fiercely dedicated to his Monday night residency at Trash. In fact, over the club’s illustrious 10 year history he only missed 1 night… and that was to go on his honeymoon!

With Trash having called it a day earlier in 2007 – much to the dismay of London scenesters – Alkan is no longer tied to a Monday night residency on the other side of the globe. It seems one particular Australian promoter has jumped on him quick smart, and he may very well be in Australia for a touring festival later in 2007.
