His name may or may not be familiar to you, but if you’re a DJ that dabbles in progressive then he’ll you’ll most certainly be excited by this news. Argentinean dance music icon Ricky Ryan will be making his first visit to Australia later this month.

Ricky quickly rose to prominence through his excellent productions under the Can Costa moniker, pumping out club hits like Who Cares?, Dizzy Synths and Neo Zoolander which have been caned by the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Satoshi Tomiie and Sasha among others. He has recently collaborated with Gamma Rox to kickstart a record label by the name of Sick Watona which is looking to have a massive year in 2007.

Ricky Ryan is relatively new to the DJing game but his profile has also been rising in this area, with him playing gigs all over Europe including some massive shows in his home country of Argentina in particular.

So far Ricky has got a show lined up at Theory in Brisbane, and he’ll also be playing a headline set at the Habit Autumn Ball with support from Matt Rowan and Jaytech, who themselves are smokin’ hot names in the progressive house scene at the moment.

Catch Ricky Ryan playing at the following intimate club shows…

Sunday May 20th: Theory, Birdee Num Num’s, Brisbane
Friday May 25th: Habit Autumn Ball, Candys Apartment, Sydney
