With DJ Shadow dropping into rock HQ tonight with his incredible AV show, there’s plenty to be excited about right now. Good news is this: if you were thinking that you couldn’t possibly see both hip hop frontier-man Shadow and techno giant Derrick May in the one night, you’re wrong!

Set times are out, and Shadow will perform with Gift of Gab from Blackalicious from 11 til 1. There will be some old and new Shadow material, and more from Gift of gab’s impressive resume. When you’re done with Shadow, hailing from Detroit’s first wave of techno artists, Derrick May takes us back to the roots of party techno at Sugar. He’ll be banging away for a solid three hours from there, so there’ll be no shortage of stuff to dance about!

It’s worth getting to HQ early for Shadow too, as guest spots include young local hip hop up and comers General Knowledge, and the seasoned skills of masters Delta ‘The Lostralian’ and DJ Staen-1. These boys will play from 10 til 11 and if you haven’t caught them yet, they are truly worldclass- vastly over-qualified for the title of warm-up act.
