The ‘will they or won’t they’ status of the tour plans of Daft Punk have gotten beyond a joke over the past 18 months, but we’ve finally been thrown a bone. They’ll be playing the Sidney Meyer Music Bowl in Melbourne on December 22… Apparently!
The murmurs were building last week, but on Saturday dance music fans around the country went into a collective state of shock when it was claimed by Grant Smillie on his Overdrive radio program that the French house pioneers would be playing a Melbourne stadium show, only a few days before Christmas. We’ve yet to receive any official confirmation, neither any news on national tour dates, but it’s an exciting prospect to say the least (not to mention great fodder for internet forums).
