Monday night saw the return of the SA Dance Music Awards for its 10th annual ceremony. After a night of bawdy revelry and the delivery of thirty awards acknowledging SA’s most popular players, the new award category of Most Popular Website went to our very own inthemix.com.au!

Previously dogged by the memory of the SADMAs 2005 which ended early after a fight broke out and shots were fired, this year’s comeback event (featuring appropriate security measures) ran without a hitch, hosted by Fresh FM spinners DJ Josh and Ezee G. The night also showcase numerous live talents including Systembot and a hip hop jam including three-time Australian DMC turntablist Staen-1, Terra Firma’s Simplex beatboxing and the Freefall Crew’s awesome breakdancing. Light and sound production was second to none, and the room was brimming over with eight hundred guests. The coveted award for Most Popular DJ Overall went to Mr S, who was also inducted into the SADMAs Hall of Fame for his contribution to the evolution of dance music in South Australia since 1985. Hilltop Hoods were also acknowledged for their incredible year with the title of Most Popular Live Act. After selling out the Entertainment Centre for their gig with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra recently with over seven thousand heads, no one was about to argue that one.
