Emerging Adelaide-based producers Supermarket have put a call out to the local massive to help them land a screening of their new music video in Toronto. A candidate in a voting-driven online music video contest called CraveFest (closing today), a handful more votes will land them a screening at the four-day celebration of music video in the Canadian big smoke, August 14-17.
The clip (produced intandem with the song ‘puffinaway’) is one of a series of abstract and experimental works designed to launch with the group’s live audio-visual premiere later this year.
The clip will also screen locally under the title ‘Abstractions No.2’ as part of this year’s SALA (South Australian Living Artists) Festival. Each year the festival presents a Moving Image program, and this year’s program is bigger than ever. One of the highlight of the program will be a screening of twenty moving image works at the Mercury Cinema; among them pieces from Andy Petrusevics, Tracey Cornish, Luku, Poppi Dosser, Emma Sterling, Kath Dooley, Thomas Buchanan and Dan Monceaux. The Mercury Cinema is located at 13 Morphett Street, Adelaide. The screening is FREE and runs from 6:30 to 8:30 pm with an interval and nibbles.
