It’s never too early in the year for Big Day Out rumours, and here at ITM HQ we’ve been hearing murmurs for the past month or so about possible headliners for next year’s tour. Topping the list of potential acts for the festival are tried and tested BDO veterans the Chemical Brothers and Carl Cox, but word on the street also tips UNKLE as a possibility to bring their new live show down under. Perth’s finest drum & bass export Pendulum and French indie electro rockers Black Strobe have also been suggested. Recently reformed grunge superstars the Smashing Pumpkins have been discussed as a chance for the mainstage.

Tickets for the tour traditionally go onsale in early October, with the first round line-up usually announced just before, so keep your eyes on ITM over the coming months for updates. We’ll endeavour to bring you all the rumours we hear along the way!

UPDATE! THE FIRST ROUND LINEUP HAS NOW BEEN REVEALED, SO HEAD TO INTHEMIX’S BIG DAY OUT FESTIVAL PAGE HERE TO KEEP UP TO DATE WITH ALL THE LATEST INFO.

I double dare the BDO organisers....infact I'll up that to physical challenge them, to have a complete line up of BDO virgin acts. UNKLE would be a good start!

I just hope that this year, BDO announces the Boiler room line-up before ticket sales. Unlike last year. It was dissapointing to say the least to see the rock lineup named and not the sounds of our persuasion!

Rage is highly possible, considering they were only going to do 1 performance which was Coachella but have done several since then and are locked in for Rock the Bells. Wu Tang are releasing their new LP 8 Diagrams (minus ODB RIP) in the US in October so
