Billed as one of New Zealand’s most energetic live bands, five-piece act Kora will be traversing across the Tasman to bring us a shot of their concoction of dub, funk, reggae, hard rock, blues, house music and everything else. They’ve previously toured with fellow Kiwis Fat Freddy’s Drop and Salmonella Dub, but they’ll be playing a series of their own shows next before they jet off to Europe.

Hailing from Aotearea, the five-piece band (four of which are brothers) have been turning heads in their home country with their energetic live performances. Their influences are incredibly diverse but they manage to blend them all into a tight and heavy sound that is underpinned by a tight rhythm section and soulful vocal harmonies. Following the success of their EP Volume, they’re currently readying their debut album which is set for release later this year.

Catch Kora at the following shows…

Friday 31st August: Prince of Wales, Melbourne
Saturday 1st September: Gaelic Theatre, Sydney
Sunday 2nd September: Beach Hotel, Byron Bay
