After singer Jamie Reynolds fractured his ankle in France over the weekend, nu-rave heroes The Klaxons have been forced to cancel their upcoming shows that would have taken them around the country and play a slot at Byron Bay’s famous Splendour in the Grass festival. Jamie has undergone emergency surgery in London and won’t be well enough to make it to our shores in time.

“The doctors say that if I spend the next two weeks with the foot elevated then there is a chance of a recovery without further complications, but the result is that we’ve had to cancel next week’s Australian tour until some point in the future,” he told his fans. “A big apology to all those who’ve bought tickets for the gigs and just to say how gutted we are to be missing out on this trip.”

Though there could never be a replacement for such a highly anticipated and ‘so hot right now’ act, none other than Hot Chip will be stepping up to deliver a DJ set in the Klaxon’s absence at Splendour in the Grass next weekend. While they’ll also be playing live at the festival, take a look at their recent DJ Kicks compilations for an idea of what to expect when they get behind the decks.

Never fear though… The Klaxons WILL return, new dates to be released soon and all tickets for the August dates will be transferable for the scheduled shows. Stay tuned for details.
