From several independent sources ITM has heard murmurs that notoriously outspoken US hip-hop superstar Kanye West is looking to make his return to Australian shores early in 2008 to head up the bill for the Good Vibrations Festival. Sworn to secrecy, we can’t elaborate on who has made mention of Kanye’s impending tour, but suffice to say there’s a big buzz on the news in both promoter and record label circles.

Having had the Beastie Boys, Snoop Dogg and Jurassic 5 on the 2007 line-up, Kanye seems an obvious fit for the 2008 tour, and with his Daft Punk sampling single ‘Stronger’ and brand new album ‘Graduation’ racing up the charts, you can be sure that interest in seeing Kanye perform live will be high. West last visited Australia supporting U2 on their sold out stadium tour late in 2006.

Stay tuned to ITM for further updates, we’ll be following this one closely!

I can't believe how much this festival has changed in the past couple of years. It's like they are trying to compete with the BDO for the yobbo kid factor. I guess at the end of the day it brings in the $$$. I hope someone else brings a return to the mor

When did Kanye West become anything other than the worst thing to happen to rap music since 50 cent?? Am I missing something? Just because he destroys a track from a legendary group like Daft Punk, doesn't make him good. Quite the opposite, only confir
