The Future Classic record label is undoubtedly one of Australia’s finest independents, and they’re by no means a local institution only, as their releases are regularly playlisted by many renowned international DJs. With a roster that boasts the likes of Deepchild, Stick Figures and Jimi Polar, it was a safe bet that their Christmas party would be a top notch affair, and inthemix is pleased as punch to be invited along to help them celebrate.
The party, dubbed A Very Disco Xmas, coincides with the launch of their latest EP, the debut from Sydney indie-meets-live-electro outfit Theatre Of Disco. Having met in London, James Brennan and Oli Chang were quick to form Theatre Of Disco, and have performed as far a field as Golden Gate in Berlin and Yellow in Tokyo. Featuring at Bang Gang when they arrived in Sydney, Theatre Of Disco were quickly offered a monthly residency at Club 77, and have since supported Uffie and Datarock, as well as locals Van She, Lost Valentinos and the Bagraiders.
Joining the Future Classic crew will be an array of Sydney’s finest, and some very special guests not seen too often in these parts (ahem, Phil Smart!), so be sure to check it out at Will & Toby’s, 134 Oxford St, on Saturday December 8th, if you’re so inclined!
