Following yesterday’s news piece speculating on the 2008 V Festival lineup, which was reported to have been leaked prior to the official announcement, the certified first round of artists has now been revealed. The rumours doing the rounds weren’t far from the truth; in fact, they were spot on!
Heading up the bill are reformed grunge legends The Smashing Pumpkins, who’ll share the top spot alongside British new-wave forefathers Duran Duran. In exciting news for electronic music fans, the 2008 V Festival will see French downbeat duo Air make their long overdue debut on Australian shores, with Brazilian nurave act CSS also joining the party.

In 2008 the V Festival will also head off on the road for a full national tour:
Sat Mar 29 – Sydney, Centennial Park
Sun Mar 30 – Gold Coast, Avica Resort
Sat Apr 5 – Melbourne, Showgrounds
Sun Apr 6 – Perth, The Esplanade

@ least the v-festival is coming to Perth this time, hooray for that, but a much bigger unhooray to no Air!!! I know we have it pretty good over here re gigs but shit like this happens every time, case in point no Dr.Octagon 4 the bdo! travesty
