Proving that stereotypes are there to be ignored, News.com.au has reported that Paula Ann Riley – a 47-year old Sydney mother who sometimes also went under the surname Williams and Murdoch – was arrested for possession of drugs over the weekend, after she left popular Oxford St nightclub Arq.
Riley had been watched while in the club, with Police claiming she had been seen to deal drugs to several patrons. Upon leaving the venue just before 11pm on Saturday December 1st, Police apprehended her. It’s claimed that when arrested she said to Police; “You’ve got me, I’m not going to run. I’ve got pills in my bag.” And following a search of her handbag an excess of drugs were recovered, including 182 ecstasy tablets and 84 vials of GHB/fantasy, as well as 3.4g of cocaine and 0.3g of ketamine.
Promptly charged with supply of a commercial quantity of drugs and possession of a prohibited drug, it’s reported that Riley applied for bail with her son offering “some surety” that she would front for court. She was remanded to appear next Thursday at Central Local Court in Sydney.
