One of the biggest surprise success stories to emerge out of the UK last year, Enter Shikari stormed the charts with their debut Take To The Skies album. They’ll be rolling into town for the Big Day Out tour next year and you’ll also be able to catch them at sideshows. Trance meets hardcore punk? You better believe it.
The most amazing thing about the band is that although they insisted on remaining independent and shunning all the support and promotion that a major record deal brings, their debut album still managed to enter the UK album charts at #4. Not to mention the fact that their hybrid sound isn’t exactly conventional. We’ve been witness to plenty of inde/dance crossover acts like The Klaxons, The Presets, Midnight Juggernauts and so forth, but do you think trance and hardcore punk are strange bedfellows? Well check them out for yourself, because the band has been ripping tit up on the live circuit for years to much success.
Enter Shikari will be here for the Big Day Out, and you can catch them at the following sideshows…
Monday 21st January: Brisbane, The Arena
Wednesday 23 January: Sydney, The Forum (All Ages)
Saturday 26 January: Melbourne, The Hi-Fi (Under 18)
Sunday 27 January: Melbourne, The Hi-Fi
