It’s always interesting to hear who Ministry of Sound have planned for their periodical CD releases, with The Annual, Clubber’s Guide To… and Sessions albums always getting a keen result from dance fans around the country. Details have recently emerged on the label’s forthcoming Clubber’s Guide To… album, which is always released early in each New Year.
Exciting news for punters after a fresh sound and approach for the next CD, Ministry of Sound’s Clubber’s Guide To 2008 will see two fresh recruits to the label, with Sam La More and Hook N Sling on board to mix the double CD and undertake the associated national launch tour.
Sam La More is a certified legend in the Australian dance scene, and his influence and impact stretches far beyond our borders with the producer having lent his studio skills to everyone from Gwen Stefani through to chart-smashing locals The Potbelleez. He also created a stir in recent years for his collaborations with GT as Tonite Only.
Hook N Sling has had a massive year in 2007, receiving an ARIA nomination for his collaboration with Kid Kenobi, ‘The Bump’, as well as touring the globe and mixing the recent Chew The Fat compilation for Fat! Records in the UK (receiving standout reviews in IDJ and Mixmag along the way).
Although the first time either artist has mixed a CD for Ministry of Sound, they’re definitely no stranger to the label; Sam La More having contributed to Mashed 3 as one-half of Tonite Only, and Hook N Sling releasing several tracks on Ministry sub-label Hussle.
The tracklisting for Clubber’s Guide To 2008 is looking rather tasty, with new tracks and remixes from Pnau, The Presets, The Aston Shuffle and many more, as well as new material from Sam La More and Hook N Sling.
Stay tuned to ITM for updates on the launch tour taking place in early 2008.
