There aren’t too many DJs who can get away with having their very own support DJ on tour, but there’s not too many DJs like Carl Cox! The big man is of course heading back to Australia this summer to spend time at his home-away-from-home on the Mornington Peninsula (about an hour’s drive from Melbourne), as well as the national Big Day Out tour and his own headline shows around the country.
Rundell joined Cox on his Australian tour in March this year, so he’ll be no stranger to local audiences. As Cox’s protégé, Rundell is building a solid reputation for his skills as a DJ, as well as production and remixing talent. “I think Jon’s a jewel in the crown,” Cox remarks excitedly. “Put him in front of 30,000 people and he really goes for it. He naturally warms the crowds up. We always discuss what we’ll both be playing and he goes out there and does it. At the moment he’s better than most top DJs I could mention.”
Jon will accompany Cox at his club dates around the country this January:
Sat 19 Jan – Brisbane, The Met
Sun 20 Jan – Gold Coast, Platinum
Sat 26 Jan – Sydney, Oxford Art Factory
Sun 27 Jan – Melbourne, QBH
Thu 31 Jan – Adelaide, HQ
Stay tuned to ITM for updates.
