The weekend of Saturday 12 January is shaping up to be a massive one for Brisbane’s house community as a rare group of Australia’s finest ‘proper’ house producers headline a weekend double header, on Saturday at Alhumbra and on Sunday 13 January at Watt, presented by Sundae.

When we say Australia’s finest, we’re not kidding; Brisbane’s own (and Australia’s best) DJ Freestyle will welcome Sydney’s Yogi (Random Soul) – who will also be singing a live PA – Melbourne’s Ricardo Rae – who has just returned from a whirlwind US tour – and Perth’s own Ralphski – who will be accompanied by songbird Kristie on vocals – for a weekend of smooth house beats and positive, uplifting vibes.

This is destined to be one of 2008’s biggest house parties in Brisbane. Between them these four producers have released original productions and remixes on some of the world’s most respected US, UK, French and Belgian House imprints including Guesthouse, OM, Black Vinyl, Grab, Aroma, Brique Rouge, Salted, Tango, Black Vinyl, Transport, Shifted, Celebrity, Loft 66, Mutated, Kolour, Phuturesole and many more.

Their tunes have received support from the likes of Mark Farina, Chuck Love, Jay-J, Swirl People, DJ Heather and DJ Mes and they bring to the table years of experience. As seasoned House veteran DJ Freestyle (who has over 40 international releases under his belt) explains, the idea for this rare gathering came about through a an effort spear-headed by him to assemble Australia’s like-minded purveyors of proper house music in a bid to both raise the profile of Australian house talent and to have one hell of a party.
