Dirty South has had a rather monumental career to date. In 2007 he had his track ‘Let It Go’ signed to Axwell’s label Axtone, and recently followed it up with his newest release ‘Minority’ on Mark Knight’s Toolroom Trax imprint. He’s had two ‘essential new tunes’ on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 program (for ‘It’s Too Late’ and ‘Better Day’), and has remixed for everyone from David Guetta, to Mark Ronson, Tracy Thorn and Depeche Mode.
He’s played in the UK, Ibiza, Brazil, Argentina, Columbia, Greece and toured North America extensively, and was voted Australia’s #2 DJ in the inthemix50 and #1 producer. To top it all off, however, he managed to crack the DJ Mag Top 100 list at #98, and is finishing 2007 riding high on the news that he’s been nominated for a Best Remix award at the Grammys. Not too bad for a boy from Melbourne!
Having been away from Australia for over 6 months as he toured the globe extensively, Dirty South will be making his long awaited return in early 2008. To coincide inthemix will have a special edition podcast available from Friday January 4th, where you can listen in as we talk with Dirty South about how 2007 was for him, and you can also hear his new track ‘Minority’.
