Were you at Field Day, Sydney’s biggest and most iconic New Years Day event? The inthemix photographers were, and we’ve already got hundreds of photos online along with the definitive review from ITM’s own Jack Tregoning. Check em out now! You can search for your mug in the photo gallery while you can relive the event in the written word format HERE.
Following in the tradition that’s been building for a few years, in 2008 there were more live acts at Field Day than ever before, along with a broad range of musical styles. There was something for everybody on January 1st – from house and electro through to hip-hop, breaks, tech and more. Punters enjoyed live sets from Canadian electro-funk duo Chromeo, UK indie rockers the Go! Team, Baltimore’s finest Spank Rock along with a bunch of world-class DJs like Angello & Ingrosso, Claude Von Stroke, Felix Da Housecat, Stanton Warriors and more. And from all reports, a massive amount of fun was had by all!

it was a pretty average day in comparison to previous field days... was actually quite surprised to see many people leaving early in the day... wasn't too impressed with the line up either.

I thought it was a mad day! If anyone left early they missed out. the last 2 sets went off.. Does anyone know what happened to the guy that collapsed in the main arena? I hope he's ok... Poor bugga..

I should have left at 7pm...at one point when the sun went down I looked around and could have sworn I was at DCM's at 4am on Sunday morning - it was that unpleasantly hectic - then the ambo's started carrying people out on sstretchers and I really knew it was time to leave pretty average performances by a mediocre line-up if you ask me too

Field day needs to do some work. With fesitvals like "future" and Melbourne's summer dayze bringing in the big names, field day is slipping big time. That said the Angello and Ingrosso were brilliant (up close where the sound was loud). Field day used to have impressive line ups. Now they know the tickets will sell, they bring in virtual unknowns and save their cash...yet put up the price. Good on them if they make a big profit but come on, the punters deserve world class acts...not just for the last 2 hours.

i agree with both comments,i left early aswell waste of time going and waste of money felt like i was at the gym not a music festival!!!! poor effort fuzzy.

I also aggree, I have been to every field day except the first one and 2008 was my least favorite, Malente played a great live set but for some reason the volume was way down...? My favorite sets this year was Stanton Warriors and Angello and Ingrosso! Good work to those boys!!!

on that note... i have no interest in attending next years field day event if the line up is as much as a waste of time as this years. i'd rather attend other festivals with the big headline acts. i agree - poor effort on fuzzy's part!

I will definately never do another field day again which is such a shame cause I had been looking forward to it all year.

Don't really get what all you people are whining about, 'line up this, people that'. I swear most of the punters on itm are just walking come downs. Meh. I'm glad I didnt start my year anywhere else, Field Day delivered as always.

Gold Coast was pretty dam average too compared to other Field Days. The line up was average and most of the acts you can catch at your capital citys major niteclub during the year. If you really want to blow my head off Fuzzy bring me the likes of Underworld, Tiesto, Van Dyk, Van Bruen. I want memories of kick ass performances
