Although he’s better known as the frontman of crazy indie kids Gerling, Darren Cross has been hard at work establishing a reputation for his solo work as The E.L.F. of late, touring with Dardanelles and Faker. Playing live sets from a laptop and sampler, as The E.L.F., Cross combines abstract dance with an indie aesthetic. If that sounds like your cup of tea, be sure to check out his debut EP ‘Stevie Nicks Hearts’, and also get yourself along to one of the shows on his launch tour throughout February and March!
The E.L.F. launch tour:
Fri 15 Feb – Strangeways, Canberra
Sat 16 Feb – Spectrum, Sydney
Thu 21 Feb – Pogo, Melbourne
Sat 23 Feb – Click Click, Melbourne
Sun 24 Feb – Beach Road Hotel, Bondi
Fri 29 Feb – Ric’s Bar, Brisbane
Sat 1 Mar – Quicksilver Pro Show, Gold Coast (w/ Midnight Juggernauts, Lior & the Black Seeds)
Sat 8 Mar – Playground Weekender, Sydney (w/ Ian Brown, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Maximo Park & more)
Check out the clip for The E.L.F.’s single ‘Cockroaches’. Produced on a budget of $12, it’s now had over 235,000 views on YouTube!
