Having wowed the audience at her sold out Sydney Opera House forecourt performance on Wednesday January 23rd, it has been revealed that Icelandic pop-princess Bjork is now no longer appearing at the Sydney Big Day Out on Friday January 25th.

Her shock cancellation comes due to medical reasons, with doctors advising her not to perform due to swelling of her vocal chords. On her first tour of Australia in 12 years, the visit has not come without controversy so far, with Bjork lashing out at a photographer in Auckland last week.

Big Day Out organisers have offered a full ticket refund to any purchaser no longer wishing to attend the Sydney festival, however a partial refund is not available. It is unclear at this stage if Bjork will be forced to also cancel remaining Big Day Out dates across the country.

Stay tuned to ITM for updates.

jesus what's with the hostility, she was mesmerizing at the Opera House, a performance I will never ever forget. Sad about pulling out of BDO but perhaps it is saving her from the hostility of the Rage fans as shown in a small dose in these comments.

im not doubting her lyrical talent in any way, i just dont think bdo is really a venue to showcase her skills...how many people honestly bought tickets for bdo primarily to see bjork? ...

Any one who has posted a nasty comment about bjork really shouldn't be posting comments on a music orientated website, as to call yourself a music lover you should be able to appreciate all forms of music, it doesn't mean that you have to like them, you j

Unfortunately all the Bjork hating is representative of what the BDO crowd has become. IT'S NOT A METAL FEST YOU OAFS.

i'm a big fan of both RATM and Bjork and I think the organisers of BDO could've avoided this with smarter programming

"I think the organisers of BDO could've avoided this with smarter programming" yeah they really should have planned not to swell up her vocal chords....... idiot
