Wanna get some background on the history of hip hop culture in Australia? Rhythm And Poetry is a documentary that charters the rise of the sound over the past few years to wider popularity. Documenting the Australian hip hop scene back to the 80s, it looks back at a time when gangs ruled parts of Melbourne, and graffiti writers were the representatives of the local culture. It’s got appearances from luminaries like Def Wish Cast, Morganics, Wire MC, Rivals, Bentley, Flux 3 and J Mez, and you’ll be able to catch it for free when it screens at the Loft Bar on Thursday February 7th.
Catch Rhythm And Poetry when it screens for free at the Loft bar at UTS next Thursday February 7th, music kicks off at 5pm and the film screens from 9pm.
