Coming to prominence as a central figure in the Bay Area underground party scene, DJ Spun was the first California jock to help forge the amalgam of house, techno, rare grooves and funky breaks that came to be known as “the West Coast sound.” For well over a decade Spun has peddled his lush disco and dub wares at many world renowned parties and clubs.

He currently resides in New York City and is curator and organiser of P.S.1/MoMA’s prestigious Warm Up Music Series: Acknowledged as NYC’s best summertime Party. In addition to his own impressive production catalogue and infamous throwdowns, Spun is also co-founder of Rong Music with partner Ben Cook.
