When it comes to masters of the minimal techno genre, they don’t come much more iconic than Ricardo Villalobos. The Chilean’s remarkable capability as a producer and DJ have the ability to make even the most jaded of chin stroker’s weak at the knees, routinely obliterating clubs across Europe and South America with his trademark microhouse and minimal tech style. He’s never made it all the way down under, however, so his antipodean fans have always had to marvel from afar… until now, perhaps!
Rumours are currently circulating that Villalobos looks set to make his maiden voyage to Australia in late May/early June, with idle forum chatter excitedly discussing the possibility. inthemix hasn’t been able to confirm his visit as yet, however further fuel was added to the fire when Ben Korbel told us that Villalobos could indeed be locked in for the We Love Sounds festival in Sydney this June.

he has played in oz b4. drdan's right, @ revolver around that time. it was my 1st introduction to his sounds. love the dude, for a long time i thought i was the only one. really can't wait for this!

if he tours as part of a festival he needs to have a side show where he can play for at least 4 hours. he has been down with isolee in 2001.
