Some of the Sydney underground electronic scene’s finest will team up on Saturday March 15th for a fundraiser at Hermann’s Bar, hoping to bring awareness to the plight of African orphanages. The event, titled Dub For No La Che, is a fundraiser and will see a selection of dubstep, dub, reggae, jungle and hip hop DJs playing throughout the day, with all proceeds going direct to the La No Che orphanage in Tanzania
In 2007 Melbourne’s finest got together to host two charity events and raised almost $10,000 in much needed funds. Jess White, who organised those events, is now in Tanzania volunteering at the orphanage, but others in Sydney have decided to further cause. Organisers of the Sydney party are hoping to raise over $3,500 on the night, and they need your help to make it happen!
The lineup includes Mark Pritchard, Sub Bass Snarl, Bec Paton, Somefreak, Basslines, Lorna Clarkson, Garage Pressure, Victim, Westernsynthetics, Southern Steppa DJs, Sakura, Double Robin, Insurgent and Firehouse Crew. The event runs from 8pm to 3am and tickets can be purchased on the door for $15.
About La No Che:
Since commencement in 2003 the La No Che Orphanage & Youth Camp has provided a home for children of Tanzania who’ve been orphaned by disease. La No Che offers them shelter, education, food, medical supplies and, most importantly, love – something no child should do without. But with an appeal for more funds, Sydney’s underground music scene has become an unlikely ally.
