Us Vs Them host DIY pioneers and avant-dance-pop trio Chicks On Speed for a Melbourne solo show at Roxanne Parlour, Friday March 7th. Projectors, sewing machines and dancing shoes in tow, it’s thought that literally anything could happen.

Chicks On Speed are a large and ever-changing collective of musicians, producers, graphic artists, designers, film and video makers, and they’ve come a long way to make a considerable mark on the music scene.

Though usually considered part of the electroclash movement, Chicks On Speed actually started as a multidisciplinary art group who applied punk-inspired DIY ethic to performance art, collage graphics and home-made fashion.

They now also encompass a record label, a fashion label, a theatre group ‘Art Rules Crew’, and a published scrapbook of their visual work. Chicks On Speed have joined forces with the likes of Peaches, Le Tigre, Bjork, Dat Politics, Felix Da Housecat and Karl Lagerfeld through their career.
