Like you aren’t already spoilt for choice at this Saturday’s Sydney leg of the Future Music Festival with what’s happening up on stage, if you find yourself wandering around Randwick Racecourse with nothing to do at any point be sure to head over and check out the Solid Gold Roller Disco. From all reports it’s likely to be a rather entertaining experience.

Famous resident and Ministry of Sound radio host Goodwill will be on hand throughout the day, and he’ll be ably assisted by Duncan, who you may remember from the rather amusing ‘interview’ clip below, and also as the host of last year’s inthemix50 awards night (who could forget him announcing “the best event in Adelaide, other than the first flight out in the morning”).

“Come over and see us, we’ll be playing the best of disco and music from the 80s and 90s,” Goodwill told ITM when we asked him what he had in store. Also, with clear disregard for the standard pro-DJ rule of ‘no requests’, they’ll be accepting your demands for songs all day. No matter how horrible. “Feel free to make requests or sing a duet with us. This will be a truly magical moment in dance history.”

Goodwill says both he and Duncan will be fully decked out in gold jackets, same as the one he wore at last year’s Ministry of Sound Warehouse Rave (pictured). And, keeping up the ‘Roller Disco’ end of the bargain, you’ll be able to skate to your heart’s content all day! This is starting to sound even more exciting than the mainstage… almost.
