Hyped to play a special Boutique Baggage event last Sunday March 23rd, anyone who headed along to The Cross to see Tom Middleton may have been a little disappointed to find he wasn’t actually there… In fact, Middleton wasn’t even in the country at the time!
Following this discussion in the forums, Tom’s Australian tour agent Playground Music sent through a statement to inthemix in the hope of clearing any confusion surrounding Tom’s non-appearance.
Playground Music Statement
Playground Music would like to take this opportunity to clear up any confusion relating to Tom Middleton having to cancel his appearance at Boutique Baggage. To set the records straight both ourselves and Tom feel it is important that you are informed of the facts surrounding the cancellation.
Playground confirmed with the promoter of Boutique Baggage Wade Cawood on Friday 14th March that Tom Middleton was available to play a Sydney show on Sunday 23rd March. On Wednesday 19th March Playground informed the promoter via SMS, several phone messages a conversation and an email that Tom Middleton was unable to play the Sydney gig due to a change in show dates to his previous commitment in Wellington. These circumstances were both out of the control of Playground Music and Tom Middleton.
Playground would also like to take this opportunity to state that at no point was it suggested that Tom Middleton would play a rave/ acid house set as he only reserves this unmissable show for special occasions such as the Playground Weekender Festival. For those who missed Tom’s acid house set this year he will be repeating it at the Playground Weekender 2009!
