We Love Sounds is Australia’s premier winter festival, and the anticipation surrounding the announcement of this year’s lineup has been intense – with all manner of leaks and wild speculation. Finally it has hit the streets, check below for the full lineup of artists that you’ll be seeing out when it returns in June!

Featuring a massive 26 international acts in total, many of which are coming to Australia for the very first time, it’ll be a diverse mix of polished veterans and hot new up-and-coming acts for this year’s We Love Sounds. Some of the heavy-hitting DJ names include house legend Steve Lawler, Mr Oizo of Ed Banger fame, Derrick Carter as well as Dubfire of Deep Dish, who’s been making massive waves as a solo producer in the past year. This lineup is rounded out with the edgier inclusions that the Sounds crew have always been known for bringing out to Australia, including Germany’s Ellen Allien from the BPitch Control label, David Squillace, Klein & Dabruck and many more.

Complementing the top rung DJs would be the most comprehensive list of live acts the festival has ever hosted. France’s Cassius will bring their live setup with them this time, while revered US indie/dance outfit !!! are coming back after wowing Australian audiences last year. After a false start over the New Year period, baile funk sensations Bonde Do Role will finally make their way here from Brazil, and we’ll be getting some live electronic mayhem courtesy of German minimal/tech star Stephan Bodzin and Nordic space disco producer Hans Peter Lindstrom. That’s not all, of course, as there’s a hugely impressive range of indie/electro acts, including Grand National, The Whip and The Bravery among others.

Taking place across the Hordern Pavilion, Royal Hall Of Industries, Forum and Entertainment Quarter on Sunday 8th June, We Love Sounds still has a much smaller capacity than many of the other massive events that we’ve seen across the summer. Last year’s event sold out nearly a month in advance, so be at the ready when tickets go on sale through inthemix and Ticketek this Friday April 4th from 9am.

Quite exciting for inthemix, is that we’ll be hosting our very own arena at this year’s festival! Be sure to stay tuned to the site over the coming months as we bring you all the details on who’ll be playing there. It’ll be the hottest stage of the day no doubt!

F**ck yea - Lawler is the GOD of true underground house!! Perfect for the Pavillion setup, i only hope he plays more of his old school style of Driving underground tribal as opposed to this "Tekky" shit newstyle...

Fucking devo'd I'll be out of the country for this :( Bodzin, Lawler, Lindstrom, Allien, Modeselektor, Dubfire, Carter. Should be a super festival. Shame trashbags have their own area... then again I guess it keeps all the wankers away from the good act
