The Presets piss off Billy Corgan

At V Festival Gold Coast, head Smashing Pumpkin Billy Corgan was reportedly none too happy that his mainstage slot was competing with The Presets across the field. In the gaps between songs, the sound of thousands of muddy punters raving to throbbing four-four perturbed Corgan and co.

In an interview with ITM conducted earlier this week, the non-singing half of the Presets Kim Moyes confirmed the dummy-spit. “Billy Corgan slagged us off on Sunday,” he revealed. “Every time he stopped a song he’d look over and see our crowd having the best time of their lives. You know, he’s pretty miserable. I guess he was just jealous.”

Asked what the frontman had actually said, Kim was all to happy to share. “He was complaining about all he could hear was the kick drum, and his band started to play along to what they could hear. Of course, none of them have any groove, so apparently it sounded really terrible. Apparently he told the crowd to go and bash up our crowd.”

According to gossip watchers Popbitch (so bring a shovel of salt), Corgan also requested “a defibrillator and an ambulance” on his rider when recording a show for MTV’s The Lair. He also stipulated that crew members were not allowed to walk in his line of sight while he was performing.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!

Uh, you mean this slag off? He sounded more like he was kidding around instead of slagging them off. If anything, Moyes sounds like the bitchy defensive one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvOjGRi0Wy8

ha ha that youtube clip offers a slightly different slant - hardly a dummy spit! Seems the presets took the bait and ended up sounding like tossers...shame cause they do make some good tunes. BTW who came blame someone for not wanting crew members in th

consider yourself un-australian... granted the smashing pumpkins are an awesome band, the presets are well represented in Oz. Maybe the event organisers shouldn't put the main stages so close together and then sound clashes, or even crowd problems wont ha

The Presets in Melbourne introduced "Go Hard or Go Home" with the comment "This song is for Billy Corgan - he knows why".

the presets have talent, im a massive fan of both, and billy can just take whatever it is thats stuck up his ass out of it. he should know in Australia, especially in the gold coast, that behavior like that is frowned upon!

Oh who cares ppl, Moyes is obviously just seeking some free publicity by blowing the whole thing out of proportion. It was just a freaking joke, and clearly the V organisers are at fault by putting the stages too close. Neways check this out, more famous

Billy Corgans a f?@"ing tool!! He's been in the game long enough to know that the fact he could hear The Presets in between songs, had nothing to do with The Presets but instead either a)the event organisers or b)the sound engineers should be held respons
