Soma Corp are pleased to present the return visit of Glaswegian minimal tech star Alex Smoke, who brings his infamous live show back to Australia this April and May. If you’re a serious fan of underground electronic music, Smoke’s name will not be a new one to your ears, as his tracks have been regarded as refreshingly original and inspiring throughout his career to date.
In late 2007 he launched his own label, Hum+Haw, and he’s steadily building a wealth of new productions, ranging from abstract minimal techno to experimental glitch and breaks, electronic hip-hop, dub and beyond. Infusing strongly European-inspired minimal and house with melodic Detroit strings and even classical elements, Smoke plays over the ANZAC long weekend and the first few days of May.
