There’s only one week to go until Tiesto finally returns to Australia after a massive four-year break, when he’ll be debuting his massive ‘Elements of Life’ stadium show in all its glory (in addition to a select few intimate club shows, of course). ITM recently spoke to the man himself, and he had the following message for his Australian fans.
“It’s been four years since I was last in Australia, so I think Australian crowds and Tiesto have a lot of catching up to do,” he told ITM. “My message is that I’m really excited to finally have the time to go back to Australia, and I’m really excited to play for you guys. I was really happy to see that all the shows sold out so fast, and so many too. We were only meant to do one show in Melbourne and one in Sydney, so I’m really happy that everyone is so excited! Thank you for all of your support.”
For the Sydney and Melbourne shows, Tiesto says that we can expect the same full-blown production and pyrotechnics that he took across the United States last year: while it’s been scaled back in terms of size to reflect the fact that he’ll be playing to crowds of around 6,000 rather than 30,000, it’s the same massive ‘Elements of Life’ show and all the dazzling spectacle that goes with it. But first, he’ll be kicking things off in a more intimate style with two shows at Brisbane’s Family late next week: stay tuned to ITM as we bring you all the up to date photos, reviews and other coverage!
Be back at the site tomorrow morning for ITM’s interview with Tiesto – one of only a select few for his Australian tour! Check out our Artist In-depth for more coverage, and have a look at this spectacular clip from the ‘Elements of Life’ tour…

Hahahaha..."Jimmy likes djing for the melbourne crowd"
POLLY83 says...
Why call it an Australian Tour when he only visits the east coast!!!!! WA always misses out
tashy88 says...
Soooo devo that he's not coming to Perth =(
Mikey-mike says...
full blown scaled back pyrotechnics??? thats an interesting concept.... i think this is the primary ingredient of TIESTO leaving a sour taste in alot of ppls mouths...
daveyjaye says...
god that music is awful...is this what he normally plays?
bobmoog says...
WTF IS THAT!!!!?
bussyboy says...
We better et decent Pyrotechnics or I'll be very diappointed
Bug Powder says...
Maybe if we make some death threat murmurs he'll pull out like that Trance Dj did in the middle east recently? Those Arabs are tight with their quality control, they have much to teach us.
yeow says...
melbourne and sydney ppl have no right to whinge about the "scaled down" pyrotechnics display... us in brissie only see him in a club (one that will be extremely cramped at that) so get none of those visuals
nanoloop says...
DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE, ITS THE DRUGS IT AINT TEISTO
bluepeople says...

exactly, there are only two dj's in the world that can pull out crowd sizes that every other dj in the world would envy - they are Tiesto and Armin van Buuren. even if you don't like his music, pay respect to a true genius at work, just watch 30,000 ravers dancing, rocking, hands in the air with thousands of glowstix all for the one man - a true GOD OF TRANCE!!! bring it on - TIESTO Elements of Life then Armin Only hell yeh!!!
locky says...
I feel like ive gone back in time to 1999.Hold on a sec,the music wasnt even that bad in 1999... What is that god awful euro trance trash he is playing in that clip.Tiesto can suck my nuts..Death to the super DJ
Citizen says...
Can some one please explain why he needs four CDJ's to play trance?

(".........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................") LOOK I DONT REALLY HAVE MUCH TO SAY BUT (......................................................................................................................................................)REALLY IS HE ALL THAT OR ARE THE TRANCE JUNKII'S WAITING TO GROW UP AND REALLY UNDERSTAND MUSIC ONE DAY?? THAT IS BLOODY TERIBBLE-DRIBBLE.. CANT SEE HOW IT SOLD OUT? MAYBE IT'S JUST ANOTHER EXCUSE FOR THE UNDERAGE TO GET LOOSE?? NOT MY CUP OF TEA?? AND STOP ASKING ME FOR MY COMMENTS??!! :(
love4u says...
This song really grows on you, but yes I thought it was crap the first 4 times.
trancejunkii says...
if the show is anywhere close to his elements of life show in copenhagen (it probably wont) it will be a cracker!!! but because its scaled down for festival hall as long as he progresses his set from proggy disc 1 deadmau5 and elements of life tunes and finishes up with ALOT of tech trance in disc 2 like Simon Patterson's Bulldozer and Pascal Feliz's Platinum as well as his own classic trance anthems of course!!! the event is going to rockk hard, ohh yeh!!!
trancejunkii says...
discomagoo - most ppl that listen to trance actually have more appreciation for wider styles of music. i listen to prog, tech, funky and soulful house defected styles all the way to all typed of trance and even hardstyle.... u're perception is quite wrong that its gonna be for the underage (although there will be a proportion of youngens for sure, just like any other event).... if u have gone to trance events worldwide u will find that there are actually more ppl in early to mid 20's to their early 30's into trance music..... it's the little kiddies that are into electro and house.... haven't u seen the fluro shirts with "i love electro" or "i love dirty house" worn all over australia by 12 year old girls??? death to supre!!!
Bug Powder says...
If you know what tunes you want to hear then why not just play them yourself somewhere and forget having to pay ridiculous ticket prices? Or do songs sound better when Tiesto hits the play button? Trance crackers...
m11011i says...
Little bit of respect,Tiesto is the best DJ and only Armin can match him,no one else is even close!!!
smokinman says...
trance haters, bear in mind that Tiesto sold out the horden pavillion in sydney in about 2 hours!!!
Jefferson says...
To all the people saying tiesto wont be good and he plays crap music...i think they're the ones that mised out on a ticket and the only way they feel better is by criticising him.
coxdigweed says...
ill look after his wife while he is busy doing the show
Aphex1112 says...
Looks like a cool show - but it doesn't look like Tiesto is actually doing much though, except smiling alot.
trancejunkii says...
bug powder - so when u go to gigs and events to watch a dj/artist perform - u're telling me that u don't want them to play certain tracks that u would like to hear?? why dont u stay home and press the play and stop button for the type of music u like too.. also the reason why ticket prices are high is because of the demand for it. Tiesto sold out 3 shows to over 15,000ppl in melbourne for $98.20. Think about it if his gig was $30 then he would probably fill the mcg. Supply and Demand, simple economics. His and Armin's gigs cost that much because they can charge that much. Simple. I'd prefer to be paying less too, but hey these guys are the biggest djs in the world and if the biggest pop and rock stars in the world charge $120-$150 for 2-3 hour gigs, then tiesto and armin for 5-9 hours is certainly much better!!!
perfect adiction says...
why not W.A. god damn it
Krazibone says...
Tiesto and Armin have been around for a very long time and have made huge contributions to the real trance scene none of this utopia, godspeed rubbish our locals play. The crowd that have been following Tiesto and Armin since the beginning 1999 or maybe earlier will understand how great they are and watched them grow to become one of the worlds greatest DJs. Kiddies and fluro kids have no idea. Unfortunately the trance scene is not as big in sydney compared to Melbourne and Europe, especially the type of trance they play.
bluepeople says...
to much talk. his number one for how many years now his number two. all you disers are who by the way. numbers talk. he sold out three shows in like a combined time of 45mins. keep dissing him with your uneducated comments. enjoy sitting at home. i'm going to rock out to all four shows. peace
trancejunkii says...
krazibone - forget sydney dude. party it with the melbourne trance ravers..... or even better headover to Amsterdam, Holland, Germany, UK Events like Godskitchen Global Gathering and Ibiza to get a glimpse of pure trance that millions of clubbers and partiers all over the world love!! Cheers
Midori Fizz says...
So when will Perth get to see Tiesto. Didn't he like playing in 'intimate' surroundings, I can't see how Metro city isn't intimate compared to his other gigs. So another 4 years till Perth sees Tiesto? Hrmmm... At least we still get Armin.
Spiro De Fiero says...
FK ME... Do you people have anything positive to say? If you don't wana go and see him, don't go, its as fkn simple as that...
GroovyGeo says...
I say if u like Trance u like trance and if u like electro or whatever u like electro. I LIKE BOTH and as long as it gets me dancing all night and having a wicked time then that's all I care about in the end.
Gspot says...
Wow seriously to those ppl dissing him with negative comments noone's held a gun to your head to read this article. Its so true that all us old skool trance addicts who have followed everything Tiesto and Armin have done ova the past 10yrs will appreciate the hard work and contribution they've made to the world of music/trance. Its not just for the love of their music but respect for their talent and inspiration. I honestly wouldn't expect the fluoro kids (who invade all/any music event in groups of 20-30 in their cheap and tacky supre gear) to understand what that means. I'm a lover of all music and will be at both Tiesto
Perthraver1985 says...
Well I have to admit, I was very impressed by the lighting effects that was at Tiesto at the Hordern. I am originally from Perth, but flew to Sydney to see this guy. Unfortunately, I didn't really like the crowd there, I think next time I will fly to Melbs to hang out with the trance ravers. I reckon a grand total of 20 ravers were at Sydney, so was a little bummed, but oh well still a good show. xox Be safe.
