Tonight will see the Thug Nights concept celebrating its 1st birthday at the newly refurbished Civic Underground, with the evening inspired by the Thug agency itself that is the brainchild of Sweetchilli resident Carlos Zarate. And better yet, they’ll be bringing Border Community legend Petter along for the ride. At the wee age of 23 years of age, the Swedish production wiz has won himself a legion of fans that includes Sasha, Laurent Garnier, Josh Wink and many more and he’s already got 15 original releases under his belt. He’ll be returning for Livewire next weekend, but this will give you the chance to catch Petter in a more intimate setting.
The concept of Thug itself started in 2005 as a management company for some of Sydney’s best known underground DJs, with Mark Murphy and Robbie Lowe representing some of the names on their events. Late last year saw Tim Jirgenson and Tim Culbert joining the ranks, and Thug is now focussed on laying the foundations for Thug Records to launch mid this year .Watch this space…
