You’ve gotta love it when an artist lets slip on their MySpace page they’re touring, right? Of course 9 times out of 10 the dates end up being entirely different by the time the tour actually gets announced, but at least you can start getting excited about their impending visit! Berlin-based producer Phonique is the latest to post details of an Australian visit, with dates for a tour in July recently going online.
Releasing on Steve Bug’s Dessous and Poker Flat labels, amongst others, Phonique is one of the tech house scene’s most revered producers. His 2007 album ‘Good Idea’ saw him tweak the standard Phonique formula by introducing elements of pop to his sound. It was universally lauded as one of the year’s best albums on the underground music scene. Don’t miss out when he tours this July!
Phonique tour dates (subject to confirmation):
Jul 4 – Empire, Brisbane
Jul 5 – Chinese Laundry, Sydney
Jul 6 – Elsewhere, Gold Coast
Jul 12 – Colonial Hotel, Melbourne
