Can you believe that the boys at Monkey Tennis are currently shaping up for their sixth birthday? That’s an eternity in the club scene, so they must be commended for continuing to stay steadfast in their mission of pushing quality house music, especially when it often seems that clubs across Sydney are over-run with electro and its myriad of sub-genres.

Over the years the Monkey Tennis crew have hosted some of the underground house scene’s biggest and most respected names, including the Inland Knights, Lawnchair Generals, Bryan Jones, The Littlemen, Da Sunlounge, Raoul Belmans, James Curd (Greenskeepers), Fred Everything, Slater Hogan and John Larner. It’s enough to make a househead weep!

For their birthday, taking place May 10th at their longtime home of Candy’s Apartment, they’ve brought together their favourite locals to help blow out the candles. As well as the Monkey Tennis regulars you’ll be able to catch Shapazz, Ronnie Finx, John Devecchis, Random Soul and Synik, with the ever present Kyla Sexton on vocals. In the back room it’s Danny Bass, Pete Dot and Steve Corfield.
