inthemix | News | Ben Korbel to mix EQ's 'Electric 03'

Australian record label EQ have established a worldwide reputation in the dance scene for their boundary-pushing ‘Balance’ series of CDs, but it’s been a while since we last saw one of their ‘Electric’ mixes which explore a decidedly more underground area of electronic music. With previous installments handled by King Unique and Danny Bonicci or Nubreed, as well as Gavin Keitel, it’s been announced that the next episode will be taken care of by one of Sydney’s finest; Ben Korbel.

A longtime player on the tech and progressive house scene, Korbel has put together a mix of cutting edge minimal techno and ambient house, with productions from Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos, Swayzak and more. Setting sail for Ibiza each northern summer to work with the We Love crew, Korbel has built himself a solid reputation as one of Australia’ hottest export DJs, with everyone from Nick Warren and John Digweed through to Damian Lazarus, Nic Fanciulli and Sasha singing his praise.

‘Electric 03’ is released on May 31st, and Korbel will play launch dates along the east coast in June. More dates are expected to be added, so stay tuned to ITM for updates.
