We’ve known for the past little while that there would be a brand new large-scale event hitting Sydney in late August by the name of Freedom Festival, featuring a fresh approach to partying with entertainers, dancers, vocalists and all manner of pyrotechnics. But something that eluded us until now was the lineup… ITM can reveal the artists that will be featured at one of Sydney’s finest party venues, the Hordern Pavilion on Saturday August 23rd.

First up, the event will have a great showing from the more housier and upfront side of progressive house – Steve Porter and Luke Fair will both be featuring, along with Toolroom Records regular Richard Dinsdale who’ll be returning after a stint at the Climate Festival earlier this year. There’s quality names on the electro side of the equation as well, with Bodyrox (who you’ll know from their mega ‘06 club anthem Yeah Yeah) locked for the festival, and they’ll be joined by the recognisable live vocals of Luciano who’s featured on several of the duo’s big hits.

Australian regular Malente will be bringing his boppin’ electro sounds back, and Fragma will also be on the bill, the production outfit responsible for the classic Toca Me which has been remixed for a new generation in 2008. And they’ll all be joined by a collection of some of the biggest DJ names in Australian dance that includes Ajax, Stafford Brothers, James Ash, Ben Morris, John Glover and more.

But it’s not just about the lineup – the organisers Freeman International are promising sexy performers, entertainers, dancers and pyrotechnics as well as the tantalizing concept of winning entry into the party’s “exclusive VIP Bar” that will feature appearance from some of “LA’s hottest IT girls.”

Freedom Festival hits the Hordern Pavilion on Saturday August 23rd, first release tickets on sale on ITM next Tuesday 10th June for $59.95. Full lineup below, more acts are due to be announced so stay tuned…

When this festival was announced and they said it was going to be on my b'day I was so f*kn pumped. Then when the initial lineup was announced I was hopeful that they were the only bad acts to be announced. Then when this came out all I can say is that

This is NOT an Amnesty International event. Thats a totally different Freedom Festival. Do your research before you make a stupid comment and rubbish a Festival that hasn't even been held yet. I know that my friends and I can't wait til 23rd August! Stick
