With two episodes now in the can – The Presets and Tiesto – the lineup of artists featuring on inthemix.tv shows absolutely no signs of slowing down as we head into winter, with episode 3 featuring both Cut Copy and Pendulum. That’s two for the price of one! No doubt up there amongst Australia’s finest exports onto the worldwide dance scene, in sound and style Cut Copy and Pendulum couldn’t be further apart, however they share one rather interesting commonality; they’ve both recently released their long-awaited sophomore albums.
Cut Copy’s LP ‘In Ghost Colours’ was unleashed in March and saw the band hit the top of the ARIA charts. They’ve spent the past few months in the US and Europe on tour, but they return to Australia in June for their biggest headline tour to date. Pendulum’s new album ‘In Silico’ was only released last month, but it’s so far spawned a number of huge tracks, including ‘Granite’ and ‘Propane Nightmare’. Originally from Perth, the band now base themselves in the UK and were recently back home for a sold out tour when we got the chance to talk.
