She’s been one of the most hyped artists of 2008, with her self-titled debut... [more]
It’s one of the biggest events on the dance music calendar, and it’s also the party that heralds the beginning of the summer festival season – that’s right, it’s time to start thinking about Parklife! Kicking off as a small boutique festival in Sydney back in 2000, since then it’s grown to an event that sells out to 30,000+ crowds in its hometown, as well as taking it to over 100,000 people across the country, with events in Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.
For the 2008 tour Fuzzy have snagged themselves a deliciously tasty headliner in the form of Goldfrapp. One of the world’s most successful electronic crossover acts since their formation in the late 90s, it’s the magic combination of Alison Goldfrapp’s gorgeous vocals and Will Gregory immense musical talent that’s allowed the band to reinvent themselves over and over again. From the haunting laidback grooves of their debut Felt Mountain to when they were really thrown into the spotlight with the electro/glam rock of Black Cherry, the pair have been consistent right up to this year’s mellow but critically acclaimed Seventh Tree.
It’s not all about Goldfrapp, though, as the Parklife lineup will be backed by the dual talents of Soulwax and 2manydjs: the former seminal indie/electro live performers and the latter their DJing alter ego who can take credit for popularising the mashup style. Other live acts on the bill include the raunchy electro mayhem of Peaches and the UK grime of Dizzee Rascal, along with a fine selection of familiar DJ names that include Martin Solveig, Plump DJs, Yuksek, Diplo and many more.
Just like us, Fuzzy’s head honcho himself John Wall is looking forward to the fun coming up. “I’m very excited about this year’s line-up,” he told ITM. “Each year we try to put together a bunch of acts whose music we love, who make for a roaring party and also keep broadening the range of musical ideas on offer. We want to keep changing and progressing musically, while keeping some links to where we’ve been. I think the artists you’ll get to see at Parklife this year will do that.”
Parklife will be rearing its head at the following dates around the country:
Adelaide – Saturday 27th September
Melbourne – Sunday 28th September
Perth – Monday 29th September
Brisbane – Saturday 4th October
Sydney – Sunday 5th October

Seriously what passes for a lineup these days? Last year we got the likes of MSTRKRFT, Riot, MIA, Justice, Freeland, DIGITALISM, The Sounds... This year...such a letdown overall.
Andreww1 says...
ugly line up again
The3rdPlumpDj says...
ok... if your not happy with it leave a suggestion so we at least know where your comming from... save us reading useless comments... please ffs.
ShesAtomic says...
Pretty good, pretty good. Probably the most impressed with this lineup compared to all other festivals in 2008 though. Got nothing on last years Parklife.
DJ_MANESH says...
=(
Choorles says...
mmm plumpyy
JeremySuric says...
yew plumps, jesse rose, boy 8 bit.......people shouldnt get pissed off when the lineup isnt every DJ theyve wanted to see in the pasy year,Especially for festivals, they should open you up to new music (or try to)......Pisses me off so much when people want bigger lineups....you only get too seen ONE, Possibly TWO headliners and probly 2 other sets, why would you want some massive lineup with all the DJ's in the world when you can only watch one set at a time, otherwise your running around like a retard, not taking anything in (i guess like most people do)...Festivals get worse as they get bigger, cuz your paying for more, seeing less due to crowd and venues get shitter. my 2 cents
kittykat83 says...
wooot Peaches, Soul wax, 2manydjs !!!
skinny white bo says...
elektrons or unabombers?? either way, someone book a sideshow please!
sotes says...
i was expecting more internationals. not bad though
Spoony1984 says...
The overall pedigree is massively down on 2007. That is the point. There are however acts there i want to see and thus i will still go. It would just be nice to have a broader choice of quality- just look at last years lineup to see what i mean... ShesAtomic- i don't know how you can compare this lineup with the likes of field day (Angello
simongoose says...
Same old shit once again... seriously Fuzzy.. cant you be a LITTLE bit diverse in your lineups
Timmac says...
Another tired old lineup from Fuzzy.....Wheeling out the same supposed 'crowd pleasers' year in, year out......Where's the imagination? Where's the diversity? Soulwax and 2ManyDJs; two for one eh guys? Did you get a discount?...Fuzzy obviously mean well, but they aren't evolving as a brand and certainly aren't exciting me and, consequently, won't be getting my hard-earned this October.....Add to the shambles in organisation and execution at last year's event, and I doubt I'll be the only one staying away.....
pomrocks says...
hello fuzzy 2004 want their lineup back wow so thats $100 i can save by not having to go to see this s**thouse lineup....
RustyinBondi says...
WOW Plump's, Goldfrapp and the Soulwax/2many dj crew, I missed Blackalicious at Falls festival in Lorne last year, was gutted. Great to see new group like Familjen and Sydney group VANSHE TECH - Best Daft punk remix ever!! "Around the world again" on the line up. Line up wise it's a cracker. Before anyone says anything more about the lineup, They need to have seen 2 many DJ's set at V festival 07 in Sydney - They were my highlight over a very good Groove Armada set!!! Seriously the only way this lineup could get better is to have Girl-Talk!!! Having the 2 best Mash Up DJ Teams in the world play, Almost a Daft Punk like Experience!!! To those complaining I am buying 10 tickets to secure my mates entry. So please don't come if you don't like the lineup, leave it for those that think it's a Killer!!! Well done Fuzzy!!!
bamul3 says...
Last year's festival was the worst festival ever... Even though the line up was unbeatable (MSTRKRFT, Busy P, Justice, digitalism, MIA, goose). Won't go this year but bring on the sideshows for Soulwax, diplo, yuksek and does it offend you...
bigpoppa says...
geezzz, fuzzy might need to bring rihanna to save this one! haha
seb_322 says...
Again another good line up, but we need to see more variety. Saying that, i cant wait. Bring it on! ~
bfjones81 says...
All I can say is very disappointed! Prob the worst Parklife lineup yet. Plumps are awesome, but I agree has nothing on last year so you would expect ticket prices to be less this year.
ShazzyT says...
I'll be there! Cant wait to see Dizzee play flex :)
Empiress says...
Are you people even looking at the same line up as me - same old!? What The?!? Personally I think it is exciting and diverse - just because you aren't musically aware enough to know half the line up doesn't mean its crap...
Scotty76 says...
Man, I've been waiting to see Goldfrapp for years, I can't wait. I hope they do 'Slippage'. And Peaches, hell yeah! To all the naysayers, you don't know your music. I think Fuzzy have brought something special for this year, I just hope they get their crowd control issues sorted. Can't wait!
griffooo says...
Fuzzy again thinking about their cash and not the Music....Worst line-up ever
locky says...
Dont do festivals anymore..Anything that costs over $100 isnt worth it.Would rather go see side shows and avoid the clowns at the circus. Steroid munchin big titted nobody'.
brems says...
last year plife sucked arse, i was totally going going to by pass it BUT maaaan how long have i waited for goldfrapp MY WHOLE LIFE thats how long! plus the plumps are always a nice touch.... please dont disapoint me again fuzzers...
ShesAtomic says...
Spoony1984- well to be honest I was not really blown away with Field Day's lineup either but I will agree with you when you say Steve Angello
twea0165 says...
mmm ok.. but does that lineup warrant the price for a ticket? according to the website, they're 130, (139 through ticketek).. is it just me, but i can't justify that.. tickets were only 80 - 90 bucks 2 years ago.. is it going to stop?
St_Jude says...
umm this is fucking sweet. goldfrapp. peaches. dizzee. plumps. diplo. soulwax/2mandjs. awesome!!
adrenalinjunkie says...
The fact that Goldfrapp are missing Adelaide makes me not want to bother!

trance_hall_86 says...
is it just me? or is last years lineup like 1000 times better! i'll go cuz park life's are also a fun day but a real let down on the lineup ( dont let my alias fool u, i wasnt expecting trance music either)
Siza says...
thats the worst lineup Ever...snor snor snor! i coulda picked a better, cheaper lineup out of all the homegrown djs then them crap overseas nobodys. only good 1 is plump djs..
ninjaskillskill says...
Hopefully what they mean when they say "
HoolaHoop says...
This year's Parklife Event will be the first time METRO AREA (Morgan Geist and Darshan Jesrani) will be performing together in Australia. Morgan Geist has also got a solo Album coming out on the 15th of September just before the festival. Metro Area are also currently working on a new Fabric CD which is due for release end of November / early December, so plenty to get excited about if you are a Metro Area fan...!
pigme says...
coming from 1 of the most anticipated festivals of the year. this is a poor lineup - and from what i've heard ticket prices are through the roof. sorry fuzzy - but this is boring.
nadine_jade says...
Ok lineup. If Plump DJ's werent playing i think i'd git it a miss!! Also PLEASE PLEASE do something about the total shambles that was Brisbane Parklife last year! Seriously 3 HOURS in a queue fo 1 drink!?!?!?!? RIDICULOUS! Take some lessons from Good Vibrations 08. It was at the same venue and It was 1000 times more organised. I dont think i waited more than 2 minutes for a drink or toilet!
dbendon says...
WTF IS WITH EVERYONE COMPLAINING NO WONDER FESTIVALS ARE GETTING MORE AND MORE LAME. MAYBE IF EVERYONE FOCUSED MORE ON ENJOYING THE FESTIVAL INSTEAD OF CONCENTRATING ON THE LINEUP YOU ALL WOULD BE MORE HAPPY!!! JUST BECAUSE YOU THINK ITS A BORING LINE UP... PFFFT!!! HOW THE FUCK DO YOU KNOW WHAT TRACKS ARE GOING TOP BE PLAYED MUSIC IS EVOLVING JUST LIKE THE DJ'S WHO KNOW'S WHAT KINDA SETS THEIR GOING TO PLAY ENJOY IT OR FUCK OFF.
Amelie says...
What's wrong with some of you....this line up is fucking amazing. Must be the fluoro fuckwits dissing it....thats ok no one wants you there anyway!! I am coming out of festival retirement for this one!
r33skyline says...
SA-WE-ET!
TheKatsPyjamas says...
what's wrong with adelaide g-frapp?!!?
thebeerbaron says...
this is one of the chattest lineups ever... plump djs an diplo are the only acts worth seein but for $130 u hav gotta be kiddin... goddamn commercialised crap now but i gues this is wat happens wen ppl go to festivals for the "experience" an "to be seen" whilst the music side of things turn to shit... fucking sell outs fuzzy
mattos000 says...
plump djs.. jesse rose.. diplo. otherwise its dud. and to anyone who said yuksek is good just remember him at the metro last year.. and ive given 2manydjs 2manychances to even bother again.. i cant believe i just said that
