After almost two years rocking Queensbridge week-in and week-out, Melbourne’s biggest superclub Famous is scheduled to say goodbye on July 12th, although Future Entertainment advise this is not the end of the wildly successful club brand. “Famous will reopen at a more intimate venue in time for Summer,” a statement released this week read.
There’s no denying Famous has had a profound impact on the Melbourne clubbing landscape since it launched in August, 2006. Over that time close to 200,000 people have walked through the Queensbridge’s doors, getting down and dirty with some of the biggest names in dance music, including Junior Jack, Paolo Mojo, Junkie XL, Steve Aoki, Serge Santiago, Tocadisco, Sebastian Leger, Richard Dinsdale and Princess Superstar.
The Famous farewell takes place on Saturday July 12th, and will make way for a hotly anticipated new trance night Infinity to launch at the venue in August. Stay tuned to ITM for updates.
