Are you heading along to help Sublime celebrate its clubbing world record as it enters the history books as ‘the longest running weekly dance music club night in the world’? The long-running (or ‘longest-running’ perhaps) Sydney crew will be celebrating a massive 12 years in the scene this Friday night with a with a 12 hour marathon of music, and they’ve announced the names from past and present who will be providing the tunes – drawn from ‘96 Pitt Steet days up until today.

“The Birthday rewind is a stunning night, with crew, members, Sublime Family and friends celebrating and reliving some of their best memories,” Sublime head promoter told ITM. “It will be utter pandemonium in the DJ booths and crazy energy on the dance floors. Plus we’re inviting promoters and artists from other venues to drop by and enjoy this massive achievement for Sydney.”

Having kicked off in 1996 at their infamous ‘Pitt Street’ location, known by many as the birthplace of clubbing in Sydney, Sublime quickly crew to become an institution in the Sydney scene, and when the original venue announced its closure it was able to make a successful transition to superclub Home around the turn of the millennium. To help mark their latest milestone they’ll be releasing the ‘Sublime XII Anniversary CD’ which will be accompanied by a national tour, stay tuned for details.
