With weekly clubs now running in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane, as well as a high selling compilation series and regular national tours, you’d think the onelove team would have enough on their plate? Not likely! They’ve just unveiled their latest venture, a brand new independent label that’ll put the spotlight on more band oriented projects.
Appropriately named Bandroom Records, it’s being headed up by Simon Cahill, the ex-Sony BMG/Red Label staffer who comes well equipped for the challenge having previously looked after releases from artists like Editors, Calvin Harris, Eagles Of Death Metal, Old Man River and Goose.
The first Bandroom signing is Chicago electro-rock trio Walter Meego, who are currently on tour in the US with our own favourite sons The Presets. Also on board for future releases are Sydney band Pomomofo, Melbourne pranksters Acid Jacks, and Frenchies In The Club (who are curiously described as a mix of Phoenix and Daft Punk… hmm!)
In August we’ll be previewing some of the label’s new music in our featured download area, so stay tuned for your exclusive taste!
