Compared to pioneering Ninja Tune artists Hexstatic, Adelaide-based audio-visual breakbeat duo Supermarket will perform a 45 minute set of original tunes accompanied by visuals on their biggest screen and soundsystem yet in Adelaide, August 9th. Celebrating their return from a recent Canada and USA tour, the show is completely free to attend and is presented as part of this year’s South Australian Living Artists Festival – Moving Image program.
The pair’s recent North American tour saw them develop improvised performance elements of the live show and introduce new music, and the Mercury Cinema experience promises to be a cut above their successful Adelaide Fringe season back in March. Meanwhile, music videos from the Supermarket project are appearing at several forthcoming Film Festivals, including Animation Block Party (NYC), AbstractaCinema (Rome, Cairo & NYC) and CraveFest (online).
